LJPD K-9 Division

The LJPD K-9 Division has a long history in the City of La Junta.  In 2008 the program was once again started with the hiring of Jester.  In 2010 Jester was retired and we hired two more K-9 Officers. Nina is a two year old male Belgian Malinois.  Nina is trained in narcotics detection and criminal apprehension.  Genny is a four year old female black lab.  She is trained in narcotics detection.  Both dogs can regularly be seen patrolling the city with their handlers and occasionally doing demonstrations for community groups.  The below pictures are of Jester.  More photos coming soon!!
