Welcome to the La Junta Police Department website. I hope you will find it informative and easy to navigate. The men and women of La Junta Police Department and I take great pride in providing professional and courteous law enforcement services to the citizens of La Junta. We recognize that our job is a partnership with the citizens of La Junta, a partnership that requires an open information exchange. The Police Department has the duty to provide information to the citizens we serve to enable them to protect and provide personal security for their families. In exchange the citizens have a duty to provide the police with the information that leads to a safer community. This information exchange empowers our community to be a safer and a more prosperous place to live. If you have any information to assist us or are in need of any police services, please feel free to contact me or any member of my staff. The La Junta Police Department non-emergency phone number is: (719) 384-2525.
Thank you, G. Todd Quick Chief of Police

Typically these classes will be held from 6pm to 9pm with some possible weekend classes during the day. If you are interested in attending a class please click here to register. This link will take you to the DOW events calendar, search the date and click on the La Junta class and it will tell you what to do. We recommend the minimum age of 10 years old, but if your child(age 8-9) can understand the concepts, is interested in completing the course, and can safely handle a firearm, we would enjoy their presence.

Find Sex Offenders in the La Junta Area:
The La Junta Police Department has recently entered into an agreement with the Douglas County Sheriffs Office to use their Sex Offender Tracking And Registration(SOTAR) software. This brings a lot of benefits to the department and the community. Prior to this we had to rely on the State of Colorado website and third party vendors as a means to inform the public of sex offenders in the area. With this upgrade, when an officer updates an offenders status or information it is instantly available on the internet. Please click the button to the right to access the public side of SOTAR.
